Clínicas Médicas San José

In addition to homes, we believe that providing poor families with better access to healthcare and education most effectively helps address community deterioration. San Jose clinic is located in Pastores, Guatemala; we provide free health, and dental care to all the families we have built homes for as well as all the children and their families in our school, Escuela Kemna'oj located in Santa Maria de Jesus, and the students of Cambianda Vidas School. We offer healthcare to other members of the community for a nominal fee.

OUR PURPOSE

The beautifully constructed San José Medical Clinic was created  with the goal of helping individuals achieve high levels of health through outpatient care, preventative care and health education, all while respecting their cultural traditions. Dr. Ana Louisa Ortiz, General Practitioner and Dr. Velvet Lopez, Dentist,  serve as the primary staff.

WHAT WE'VE DONE

Since opening in April 2011, the clinic has treated over 18,000 patients. The most serious cases involve children with diarrhea and pneumonia and adults with untreated diabetes.  The impoverished of Guatemala are not used to the concept of health care; we are working to educate and encourage them to take advantage of this service for their entire families.

San José Medical Clinic has an ongoing need for financial support and is always in need of supplies. If you are interested in donating supplies please refer to our wish list below as to what  items we are needed.  All financial donations may be sent to:
